Meet Peter Jones
Peter Jones is an artist based in Portobello, Edinburgh’s seaside. His paintings have been published in a series of small books celebrating the buildings of Kirkcudbright, Portobello, Falkland, Craigmillar & Niddrie, and St Andrews. Peter’s art is characterised by quirky lines and fresh watercolour washes, spontaneously drawn and painted in situ.
Peter grew up in Newcastle, before studying Art History and French in St Andrews. Unable to shake his love of drawing and painting he moved to Paris where he first exhibited and sold his work. Since 2000, Peter has exhibited with the High St Gallery in Kirkcudbright, and has shown his work widely, including with the RSA and RSW in Edinburgh.
House portrait commissions, both in Scotland and beyond, have become a feature, whilst Peter’s illustrations for magazines are characterful and bold. If you have a project in mind, please contact the artist.
As a teacher, Peter believes that drawing and painting is for everyone and he facilitates workshops for groups and individuals of all ages, taking participants outdoors whenever possible. Sessions are relaxed and positive, and take a calm and thoughtful approach.
Peter Jones Print Shop brings together recent collections in a range of Fine Art Limited Edition Giclee Prints, notably of St Andrews, with its historic townscape, university, and of course the home of golf.
